What Steam Says Today
The relevant Steam field is explicit but inconclusive: compatibility is listed as Unknown.
Steam also publishes a Windows PC release dated August 27, 2026. Its minimum notes target 1920x1080 at 30 FPS on Low, while the recommended tier targets 2560x1440 at 60 FPS on High. Those profiles name desktop operating systems and discrete PC hardware, not a Steam Deck test configuration.
It is not captured inside a Steam Deck bezel and shows no controller glyphs, Gamescope overlay, frame-time graph, battery readout, or graphics menu. The artwork can identify the title, but it cannot turn Steam's Unknown label into measured handheld support.
Why Desktop Requirements Are Insufficient
A game's presence on Steam means it has a PC storefront, not that Valve has validated its handheld experience. The published requirements specify 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. They do not describe Linux or Proton behaviour, text size on the Deck display, default control mapping, shader compilation, suspend and resume, or handheld memory pressure.
The desktop targets also cannot be scaled into a trustworthy Deck frame rate by comparing component names. Resolution, preset, upscaling, scene complexity, power limit, and launch-build patches all affect the result.
They do not identify the capture device, expose a frame-time overlay, show the handheld's controls, or document power conditions.
What a Useful Deck Test Must Show
A later Valve badge would answer basic compatibility, but performance-sensitive buyers still need launch-build testing. Useful coverage should name the Deck model, game version, resolution, graphics preset, upscaling setting, frame cap, and the mission or scene tested rather than showing only a short cutscene.
Control prompts, launcher and account flow, readable interface text, cinematics, tactical battles, and visits to the Den can stress different parts of the experience. A single average-FPS number would not establish that every one of those paths is comfortable or stable.
If Steam Deck play is a purchase requirement, keep the present answer at Unknown until Valve changes the field or transparent hardware-specific testing appears. Do not assume a future badge, a particular frame rate, battery life, docked output, or save behaviour from the PC listing.
