Quick take

  • Custom Operatives are recruited directly by the player.
  • Hired Operators use the published eight species and crew customization categories.

Which companions are customizable

Zero Company has named authored Operators and recruited Custom Operatives. It says those recruits can be fully customized in appearance, clothing, voice, and name.

This is the right category for player-made companions, rather than assuming every named Operator has the same editable identity.

Confirmed recruit options

The eight published species are Devaronian, Human, Neimoidian, Ovissian, Togruta, Twi'lek, Weequay, and Zabrak.

At The Den, you recruit, progress, and dispatch Operators. Choose a recruit's role for the current team and develop bonds through missions; StarWars.com says those bonds unlock support abilities and cross-training benefits.
